Evergreen Co Real Estate
Homes in Evergreen Co
Evergreen Real Estate, Colorado. When Evergreen was established in the mid-1800s, its spruce and pine trees were so abundant, you couldn't even get a horse between them. Lumber, hence, became the town's main contribution to the region. Evergreen has since become less woodsy (probably due to the abundance of log cabins), and has established itself as a well-to-do community. The town, located 30 miles west of Denver on I-70, has a population of approximately 30,000 people, most of who commute to Denver for work though many are able to work and live in Evergreen. The population is the only meager thing about Evergreen. Each year since 2001, Evergreen has held its own jazz festival at the end of July—a festival that was lauded as being the "best jazz festival around" by Mississippi Rag magazine. Not too shabby for a small, Colorado town, eh? Evergreen also has a host of arts and entertainment organizations ranging from the Evergreen Chorale and the Evergreen Players to the Evergreen Arts Center.
According to an inside source, an Evergreen native in the flesh, the places to hang for a good time in rustic town include (but are obviously not limited to): Rib Crib, The Little Bear Western Saloon and Bar, touted as the Colorado's rowdiest mountain bar, and Cactus Jack's, a popular local bar featuring DJ's, live outdoor music in the summer and regular pool tournaments.
